Halifax gets ready for the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic.
Innovative (www.ih.ca) shows a photo journey of the Friday preparations in Halifax, Nova Scotia for the events planned for the weekend to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic. Nova Scotians and visitors are encouraged to attend free events April 14 and 15 in Halifax to mark the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking. "Halifax's role in 1912 was one of assistance," said David Wilson, Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage. "Atlantic Canadians are known for lending a hand in difficult times so we hope that everyone will gather together to honour our place in history." Join host George Jordan at the waterfront side of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic for a walking, candle-lit procession on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 pm To symbolize Halifax's role in the tragedy and the conditions in 1912, a horse-drawn carriage with a period-style casket and pallbearers will lead the procession. The procession will begin at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, move along the waterfront, left onto George Street, left onto Hollis, right onto Prince, right onto Argyle and into the Grand Parade for the Titanic Eve -- Night of the Bells event. Redinger Spay/Neuter Clinic Grand Opening - April 10, 2012 - Halifax Humane Society
Redinger Spay/Neuter Clinic Grand Opening - April 10, 2012 - Halifax Humane Society
The Redinger Clinic is a unique endeavor that creates the ability to perform nearly three times the number of surgeries of a standard clinic. It has the capacity to provide up to 11000 subsidized spay/neuter surgeries for the public each year, in addition to the 4000 already performed at the Halifax Humane Society animal shelter. Halifax Humane Society uses donations to help subsidize its costs for the surgeries. The Redinger Spay/Neuter Clinic is the latest component of the Halifax Humane Society's continued initiative to reduce and eventually eliminate the pet overpopulation problem in Volusia County. Spay/neuter surgeries have proven to have the largest direct impact on reducing the number of animals going into shelters. For every 100 cats sterilized, there are 58 fewer cats that enter a shelter, and for every 100 dogs sterilized, 71 fewer dogs enter shelters. In our experience, no other program has been able to achieve results of this magnitude on a regular basis. Halifax Humane Society currently takes in over 15000 animals each year, making it one of the largest animal shelters in the state of Florida. The Halifax Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization servicing the Greater Daytona Beach area in Volusia County, Florida since 1937. It exists to protect animals from cruel, neglectful, and exploitative treatment. Halifax Humane Society is an open-door animal shelter that refuses service to no animal in need. Titanic deck chair recovered by Halifax cable ship up at at auction
Titanic deck chair recovered by Halifax cable ship up at at auction
AMHERST, NH -- The story of the Titanic has been told so many times and in so many ways it almost seems like fiction. But the Titanic disaster was very real. As its centennial approaches, pieces of that night are on the block at RR Auctions in Amherst, New Hampshire. One of seven authentic deck chairs known in existence was fished out of the Atlantic just weeks after the sinking and is just one of the 180 lots up for bid. Some of them, like the deck chair, will bring in six figures. One of the most poignant items is the letter band leader Wallace Hartley wrote to his parents on April 10th. Hartley's band is famously known to have played on as the ship went down. His is one of several letters in the collection. The auction goes live April 19th at rrauction.com.

Droylsden vs Fc Halifax Town ( Video Clip's )
Droylsden vs Fc Halifax Town ( Video Clip's )
Neil Aspin was left ruing the contentious penalty decision that left his Halifax side empty-handed from their trip toDroylsden. Town were more than a match for their opponents but came away with nothing thanks to a brace from midfielder Dan Gardner, the second of which was a debatable penalty. The Halifax manager praised his side's performance and was pleased with what he saw from his team. He said: "It was a very harsh defeat. I think at times this season I've been critical of the team and at times we've not played as well as I would've liked, but today, I think from the start the players did the job I asked them to do. "We're very unfortunate not to get the result; it's a very harsh decision to give a penalty against us for the winning goal. "We deserved to get something from the game, I can't fault the players, they worked exceptionally hard against a good team who are dangerous. "If you let them play they've got good footballers and they can play at a good tempo and open teams up. "We've restricted them to very few chances and we've had enough chances of our own to win the game." The decisive moment of the game arrived when the referee decided the ball had been handled by Tom Baker inside the area. It appeared only to have touched his chest, but the judgment gave Dan Gardner the chance to score the winner from the spot. Aspin said the incident was the deciding factor in the game but insisted there were plenty of positives to be taken from Town's display. He added: "If ...

Halifax Hydroponics | First Grow Room Basics
Halifax Hydroponics | First Grow Room Basics
www.steveshydroponics.ca First Grow Room Basics The first grow room basics you need to start your hydroponic garden. No matter if you're just starting out or you've been doing hydroponics for a while, your success or failure is largely determined by the equipment you select. It's very important to choose what you buy very carefully. Here's a breakdown of the most essential supplies and a few good reasons why they will be so important. Grow Lights - Without doubt this is one of the most crucial decisions you will make. Lighting is governed by several factors such as the type of plants you are growing and the size of your growing area. If you make a choice based upon price as opposed to quality your plants will probably never produce their best for you. Water Pump - Nutrient solution must be delivered either continually or at regular intervals to your plant. There are two types of pumps. Submersible pumps which are completely submerged in the nutrient solution and non-submersible which function outside of the nutrient solution. To know what size pump you'll need you must determine how much nutrient solution will need to be delivered to your plants. Then get yourself a pump that will match the required output. For example...if you want to fill a container that requires 100 liters and you want to fill that space within 15 minutes then you'll need at the very least a 400 liter per hour pump. Timer - If you have a very simple one container system sitting in a closet or on a ...
